(Present Participle) His job is cleaning the house. (Gerund) The walking woman has a walking stick in her hand. (Present Participle, Gerund) น้องๆ คะ ต้องย้ำกันก่อนเลยนะคะ ว่าเรื่อง Present Participle ออกข้อสอบบ่อยมากๆ ถึงมากที่สุด ยิ่งเข้าใจมาก ยิ่งได้คะแนนมากนะคะ ตัวอย่าง ข้อสอบ CU-TEP เรื่อง present participle 1. รูปของ Present Participle คือ V ช่องที่ 1 เติม ing (writing reading sleeping) การเรียก V+ing ว่า Present Participle นั้นเป็นการเรียกตามรูปให้ถูกตามไวยากรณ์และมีหน้าที่ดังต่อไปนี้ 1. ใช้ตามหลัง V to be จะเป็น Continuous Tense เช่น Jenny is walking on the street. I have been working here since 2012. 2. ใช้ตามหลังกริยาบอก แสดงความรู้สึก (see feel hear smell watch notice observe) เช่น Ken saw him coming here. I watch the voys playing football in the field. 3. ใช้เป็น Adjective ขยาย Noun ทั้งอยู่หน้า Noun และอยู่หลัง V. to be เช่น A barking dog is Siberian Husky. The movie is interesting. หากเติม -ing ต่อท้าย Verb of feeling แล้ว คำนั้นจะกลายเป็น Adj. ที่แปลว่า น่า…. interesting – น่าสนใจ surprising – น่าประหลาดใจ boring – น่าเบื่อ 4. ใช้ขยายคำหลังกริยาดัง ในโครงสร้าง S + V + Object + Present Participle เช่น find keep catch get set discover bring imagine take. You keep me waiting for a year. 5. ใช้ทำหน้าที่ขยายประธานและขยายความทั้งประโยค เช่น The man smoking a cigar is my brother. Considering the situation now, we should reshedule the meeting plan.
